Torsion Bar Indexing 101
Oh, you want to know the results. The car came up 2". After driving the car it came back down to 1.5". The measurements to the fenders are: 25" RR
25.25" LF
25.5" RF There is an accepted practice of measuring to the frame instead of the body panels. So I'll post those measurements as well. As you can see, my car looks a lot better from the bottom than the top :^) Rear - measure to the torsion bar tube (the outer part of the torsion bar) 230mm (5.12") ideal Front - measure to the bottom of the inside rear control arm bolt. 130mm (9.0") ideal The external height adjusters are at the top (highest point) so I can lower the car about 11/16" if I want to. I don't think I want it any higher. Right now it is pretty level. Ideally, I should drop the front 1/4" and raise the rear a bit. But this is close enough for my needs. Credits: Dan Dalen |
