Fuel Level Sender

Running out of gas when the indicator says you still have a quarter-tank?  Could be the Fuel Level Sender within the gas tank is out of calibration, or, the Fuel Gauge itself is not registering the level correctly.

The sender unit is located under the carpet in the luggage area.  There should be a fireproof shield stuck over the top of the rubber hole cover.  Lift or remove both of these for access.

Once you gain access to the fuel tank you'll want to gently remove the electrical plug.  There are no tricks to this, though it may take a good tug.  DO NOT pull on the wires.

We'll be measuring resistance values (ohms) between the ground and pin G. [reference picture from MY86]
