Steering Wheel Restoration - Needless to say, you use your cars steering wheel everytime you drive your car. It therefore is subject to more wear and tear than just about any other part of your car. AGLA has designed a kit that is not only EXACTLY duplicates the "factory" appearance, but it is also the only kit that fully covers the steering wheel spokes unlike cheap looking "Econo Kits". Shift Boots - Second to your steering wheel, your cars shift knob encounters the most wear and tear in day to day driving. Nothing looks worse than a torn and battered shift knob. These kits come with step by step instructions and require about 5-25 minutes for installation.
Porsche - 911, C2, C4, 993, 996, Boxster Shiftboots, Shift Knob Units: Up to 1987, all 911 came with a long black metal stick shift between the seats, rising up from a rubber shift boot. Most metal shift start to look ugly, and the paint peels off after several years. Our 911 shiftboot is a great way to cover up the shift and update it to a modern luxurious look. You can also purchase from us a one piece knob and boot unit that looks like a factory OEM fit. 1987 through 1989, Porsche changed the transmission to a better unit, called a “G-50”. Along with this, the 911’s came with an original equipment leather knob the size of a golf ball. Beneath the Emblem that pops off, is a hex (Allen) screw which allows for easy removal. The leather on these were very thin and wear out quickly, especially lighter colors such as linen and camel. AGLA uses thicker leather to avoid this problem. We also make a one piece unit knob and boot called the 959CARA which includes either a 4 speed or 5 speed emblem.
In 1990, the 911 was known as the Carrera 2, or Carrera 4 (also as C2/C4). The shiftboot and knob unit was now along the design of the 944 unit. Some C2 models used a slender knob as seen on the 928, while the C4 used the thicker knob from the 944/968 series. By 1995 all 911 C2/4 including the newer 993 model used the thicker 944 knob. AGLA uses for the 1990-98 models the thicker knob/boot unit in your choice of color.
The 996 model 1999+ uses a Boxster knob/boot unit which reverts back to the slender 928 style knob.
All 911 units come with 4/5 speed emblems. (6 speed available special order) and extra cost. However your old emblems are usable.
